Winnipeg, the capital city of Manitoba, is believed to be where the name Winnie-The-Pooh was derived from. A Winnipeg-born soldier who raised a black bear cub during World War 1 donated this bear to the London Zoo and became a favorite of the people of London as well as author A.A.
